(Escondido, CA) – Stone Brewing Co. made a whopper of an announcement on Saturday: a $25 million investment and $1 million crowdfounding campaign for a new brewery in Berlin. From the Indiegogo page:

We are embarking on the world’s largest collaborative brewing project, and we need you to join in and be a part of the revolution. Our mission is to take the glory of craft beer across the globe, so we’re opening up TWO new breweries. One in the U.S., east of the Mississippi. The other, in one of the fatherlands of beer: Germany. We want to contribute to craft brewing’s current renaissance in Europe by building a production brewery right smack in the heart of the city, complete with a bistro and beer garden.
