Press Release:
(Denver, CO) – As of this week, Crooked Stave Artisans has partnered with Dallas-based Sublime Imports to bring in exceptional craft beers from the Mediterranean.
Over the last year, Crooked Stave Artisans (CSA) has expanded its portfolio to include many brands never before seen in Colorado including Almanac Beer Co. (San Francisco, CA), Against the Grain (Louisville, KY), Breakside Brewing (Portland, OR), Cascade Brewing (Portland, OR), Fremont Brewing (Seattle, WA), Gigantic Brewing (Portland, OR), Jester King Brewery (Austin, TX), Oakshire Brewing (Eugene, OR), and Rhinegeist Brewing (Cincinnati, OH).
“CSA has a fantastic reputation as a distributor throughout Colorado. While we understand Colorado to be a very locally driven beer market, it is at the same time home to some of the most important people, bars, and events in the craft beer industry and somewhere we feel it is highly important for us to have a presence,” says Austin Clar of Sublime Imports.
Through Sublime Imports, Crooked Stave Artisans (CSA) is bringing unique offerings from two breweries in Israel, Malka Brewery and Alexander Beer, as well as several breweries from Spain.
“Sublime Imports has collected a range of beers from both Israel and Spain that show what is happening on the other side of the globe within our current market of beer consumption,” says CSA buyer André DiMattia. “It only further defines that ‘microbreweries’ are not just a blip on the scene, the tide is turning and more people are requesting better beer. These beers represent a focus and true dedication to something that can captivate and possibly get others to follow the pursuit.”
The complete listing of Sublime Imports breweries and beers hitting Denver liquor stores is as follows:
Malka Brewery, located in the upper Galilee town of Yehiam, is one of the first microbreweries in Israel and specializes in traditional Belgian, German, and English styles with an Israeli twist. Available beers: Belgian-style Blonde Ale (6.5% ABV), Dry Stout (6% ABV), and Pale Ale (5.5% ABV).
Alexander Beer, located in Emek Hefer Israel, was founded in 2008 and produces small batches of kosher beer using traditional European brewing methods, a proprietary yeast, and purified water from the Sea of Galilee. Available beers: Green (Israeli IPA, 6% ABV), Black (Israeli Robust Porter, 7% ABV)
Hailing from the town of Logrono, Spain in the La Rioja region, Mateo & Bernabé and Friends produces handcrafted beers to be enjoyed with food. Available beers: Bernabé 11 (Golden Ale, 6% ABV), Mateo 21 (Wheat Beer, 5.5% ABV), and Santiago 25 (Abbey-style Ale, 7.5% ABV).

CSA also added the Massive Madrileno Ale, a 12% ABV Barleywine brewed with Madrid’s privileged water, from Cervezas la Cibelas in Leganés, Spain.
