Sponsored Press Release:

(Santa Rosa, CA) – The 20th Annual Battle of the Brews is coming up on Saturday, April 9, 2016 in the Grace Pavilion at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. This is Sonoma County’s Premier Craft Beer EventTM, so come experience an awesome day of beers, ciders, bands, and great food. Enjoy live performances by Pat Jordan and McKenna Faith on the Main Stage, while over 70 breweries and cideries as well as 20 restaurants vie for your vote in the Craft Cup and Main Event. All proceeds from the event benefit underprivileged youth in our community.

Battle of the Brews takes place all afternoon and evening on Saturday, April 9th, and begins with the VIP Craft Cup experience from 1-4PM, and continues into the Main Event from 4-8PM.

Craft Cup
The VIP Craft Cup experience, a more leisurely addition to the event that precedes the Main Event, begins at 1PM. Breweries and cideries from far and wide will showcase exclusive craft beer and ciders, and for three hours, VIP guests will enjoy a deeper, more personal tasting experience, allowing for casual conversation with brewery representatives and master brewers alike. Guests will have the opportunity to sample gourmet sandwiches from numerous restaurants participating in the Sonoma County Sandwich Showdown. The Pat Jordan Band will fill the room with great live acoustic rock. A raffle will also be held, where VIP Craft Cup attendees could win a variety of unique prizes that will be drawn between 1:30PM-4PM. Of course, the most sought after recognition is up for grabs alongside the Craft Cup tasting, as some of the most talented brewmasters put their beers in the ring for the BJCP-Certified Craft Cup Commercial Beer Competition. Decided upon by a panel of more than 30 highly renowned and skillfully practiced judges, this is truly a high stakes grudge match to determine which beer will win Best of Show at the 2016 Battle of the Brews and carry the bragging rights for the rest of the year. VIP Craft Cup attendees may also stay for the Main Event at no additional charge.

Sonoma County Sandwich Showdown
What better way to compliment craft beer than with gourmet food, and during the Craft Cup, sample numerous sandwiches from some of Sonoma County’s best restaurants including John Ash & Co. and Belly Left Coast Kitchen & Tap Room as they compete to invent the most flavorful and indulgent sandwich creations in what was formerly known as the ‘Wich Hunt Sandwich Competition. As with the People’s Choice Beer Contest, where ticketholder’s cast votes for their favorite brews, Craft Cup attendees may taste each of the different gourmet sandwiches from local restaurants as they seek to determine the winner.

Main Event

The Main Event begins at 4PM right where the Craft Cup leaves off, and continues through 8PM. Up for grabs are the People’s Choice Awards for guests to vote on their favorite brewery or cidery amongst the 70+ that will be present, and their favorite food amongst more than a dozen local restaurants. McKenna Faith, who was recently named one of the “Top 30 Women You Should Know in Sonoma County” by The Press Democrat, will be on stage to keep things rocking, and patrons are invited to sample the afternoon away. Taps will be off at 7PM, but the music will continue through 8PM.

Battle of the Brews Supports Local Children’s Charities
All proceeds from Battle of the Brews support various local children’s charities. It’s due to events like Battle of the Brews that so many programs for underprivileged and underrepresented children are able to happen.

Over the years, Battle of the Brews has raised almost $1,000,000 to benefit the children in Sonoma County though: Challenger Little League of the North Bay, the Active 20-30 Club’s Back-to-School Kids Shopping Spree Event, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County, Tomorrow’s Leaders Today, Children’s Village, Kid Street Learning Center, Santa Rosa Active 20-30 Club’s Kid’s Christmas, Committee on the Shelter-less (COTS), Schools Plus, Project Graduation, and many more.

The Battle of the Brews is the only event of its kind in Sonoma County, and all proceeds go to support children in Sonoma County.
