[Press Release:]
(Lexington, MA) – After the successful launch of Battle Road’s 1775 Tavern Ale and Barrett’s Farmhouse Ale earlier this summer, Battle Road is ready to introduce the third beer in its “core four” arsenal – the Lexington IPA.
A perfect blend of old and new, the Lexington IPA uses a classic New England yeast strain for a clean ale flavor and a selection of the finest barleys with lots of Vienna malt. It is rounded out with a blend of hops including Centennial, Azacca, Mosaic, and Citra; dry-hopped with Citra and Centennial. It has a deep brass color, firm malt character, not too dry. Plenty of citrus hop flavors with orange zest on the tongue, and pine and lemon in the aroma. 6.0% ABV / 53 IBU.
About Battle Road Brewing Company
On a brisk New England morning in 2012 – not unlike the morning of April 19, 1775 when the Sons of Liberty and local militias marched the Battle Road from Lexington to Boston, fighting the British at the start of the Revolutionary War – two longtime friends and patriots in the brewing industry launched Battle Road Brewing Company. Inspired by the notion of perseverance that drove those brave men along the Battle Road, Jeremy Cross and Scott Houghton honed more than 40 years of combined professional brewing experience from around the world to produce the flagship 1775 Tavern Ale, a pleasantly hoppy Pale Ale using the best malts and hops available for a moderate bitterness and pleasant aroma and flavor.
In late 2014, Battle Road Brewing Company began working with local hospitality company, Whole House Group, to make it easier for New Englanders to enjoy their beers. In the spring of 2016, Battle Road Brewing Company launched an all-new look & feel for the staunchly New England beer brand, with 12-ounce cans and kegs of 1775 Tavern Ale and Barrett’s Farmhouse Ale distributed to restaurants, bars, and retail liquor stores across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This summer, Battle Road releases its Lexington IPA, which fuses the old & new by using a classic New England strain of yeast along with a traditional blend of hops. And in the fall, Battle Road will release the fourth brew in its “core four” – the Midnight Rider porter.
By the fall of 2016, Whole House Group completes construction on Battle Road Brewery & Brew Pub at the newly redeveloped Mill & Main development. The 12,000-square foot space in Maynard, Mass. will house a state-of-the-art 15-barrel brewing system to produce upwards of 1,500 barrels per year (a fivefold increase from when Jeremy and Scott contract brewed prior to Whole House’s involvement), a full restaurant with seating for 75, tap room, private dining rooms, and a beer garden overlooking Mill Pond.
