(Golden, CO) – The holidays are here, which means it’s time for AC Golden Brewing Company’s Colorado Native Winterfest to make its appearance. This year it arrives with a bang – receiving a gold medal at the All Colorado Beer Festival.
Winterfest is a traditional bock the company began brewing in 2015 as part of its Colorado Native family of brands, all of which are brewed with 100 percent Colorado ingredients.
The beer won gold in the Bocks, Scottish and Irish Ales category at the festival, which was held earlier this month in Colorado Springs. Beers from more than 60 Colorado breweries were entered into the 11th annual festival.
Moravian two-row pale, Munich, and chocolate malts are used to help create Colorado Native Winterfest’s sweet toasted malt and biscuit flavor. Clean alcohol character balances the malt sweetness and noble hop bitterness. A long lasting, billowy white foam head crowns the beer and it finishes clean, sweet and rich with a depth of malt character. ABV is 7 percent.
“Winterfest is an all-around good food-pairing beer,” said AC Golden head brewer Jeff Nickel. “It stands up particularly well to hearty meat dishes and also pairs well with chocolate.”
AC Golden Brewing Company brews beers with 100 percent Colorado ingredients, making it the natural choice for beer drinkers who want to stay local with their choices. AC Golden also brews Colorado Native Amber Lager, Colorado Native IPL, and several specialty beers under the Colorado Native label, including: Olathe, Pilsner, Peche, Plum, and Winterfest.
AC Golden Brewing Company is located in Golden, Colo.
